Briefly, smears were fixed using absolute methanol and were stained by carbol
fuchsin solution (4 g of basic
fuchsin crystals, dissolved in 25 ml of 99% ethyl alcohol) for 15 minutes.
Serial sections (10 [micro]m thick) were obtained on a rotator microtome, stained with astra blue and basic
fuchsin (Kraus et al., 1998), and mounted in Canada balsam on glass slides.
Sodium phosphate dibasic is an inorganic compound with alkaline pH and hygroscopic in nature.12 Numerous dye leakage studies have been performed on MTA when used as a root-end filling material using different types of dyes such as methylene blue,
fuchsin, rhodamine B, silver nitrate, India ink, and Pelikan ink.13,14 In this study rhodamine B dye was used for dye penetration.
The slide was then rinsed with running water and dried at room temperature for one hour and subsequenty stained by
fuchsin or malachite green.
The root samples were stained by NaOCl-acid
fuchsin method (Byrd et al., 1983) and a part of the collected root samples were cut into small pieces for extraction of second stage juveniles (J2s) and males by modified Baermann's technique (Whitehead and Hemming, 1965).
The air-dried smears are gently heat fixed and are stained with strong carbol
fuchsin and intermittently heated for 5-10 minutes.
Akers Bio has also agreed to a permanent injunction and will not make, use, sell or offer to sell the BreathScan OxiChek product, any product that detects aldehydes or oxidative stress in exhaled human breath or breath condensate using either basic
fuchsin or sodium metabisulfite or any form, analog or equivalent thereof, and the BreathScan Lync device, or any equivalent thereof, as part of a test for aldehydes or oxidative stress in human exhaled breath or breath condensate.
(2005) studied the efficiency of azo dyes for staining phytonematodes and found that dyes containing bordeaux, red bordeaux, and the mixture of bordeaux and 1% indigotine blue, consistently stained in red color the egg masses, eggs, juveniles and females of Meloidogyne incognita, inside the root, compared to the dyes phloxine B and acid
fuchsin. However, studies regarding the use of artificial dyes for staining fungal structures are scarce.
The mucin of PMA is positive for periodic acid-Schiff (PAS), alcian blue (at pH2.4), mucicarmine, aldehyde
fuchsin, and colloidal iron stains.
Following this procedure, the teeth were set in 0.5% basic
fuchsin solution for 24h at 37[degrees]C.
Ground sections were stained with toluidine blue/basic
fuchsin, and sections prepared with a microtome were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) or Movat pentachrome.
The sections were stained with Van Gieson's picro
fuchsin to evaluate new bone formation.
